Commissioned Artwork
There is something special about owning a piece of art created specifically for you. Whether it's a cherished family memory, a beloved pet, a favorite wildlife encounter, a treasured home, boat, ranch, or simply an idea you've always wanted brought to life,
commissioned artwork allows you to own a truly one-of-a-kind piece that tells your story.
Every commission begins with a conversation. Some clients come to me with a clear vision and detailed reference photos, while others simply have an idea, memory, or feeling they would like captured in artwork. During our initial discussion, we'll talk about your subject matter, preferred medium, desired size, and where the finished piece will be displayed. This helps me understand not only what you want the artwork to look like, but also the emotion and significance behind it.
For commissions based on existing photographs, I work closely with you to select the strongest reference images. In many cases, I can combine elements from multiple photos to create a more compelling composition than any single photograph provides. For example, a favorite pet may have the perfect expression in one image and the ideal pose in another. The goal is to create artwork that captures the essence of the subject rather than simply reproducing a photograph.
Once the concept is finalized, I begin the design and sketching process. Depending on the project, I may provide preliminary sketches or compositional concepts for your review before moving forward. This ensures that we are aligned on the overall direction and allows for adjustments before the detailed work begins.
As the artwork progresses, I provide periodic updates so you can follow the creative journey from blank paper or canvas to finished piece. My goal is to make the commissioning process enjoyable, collaborative, and transparent while allowing the artistic process to unfold naturally.
Upon completion, the finished artwork is carefully prepared for delivery. Whether you are commissioning an original graphite drawing, colored pencil piece, pen and ink illustration, acrylic painting, or mixed-media artwork, every commission receives the same level of attention, craftsmanship, and care.
Creating custom artwork is one of the most rewarding parts of being an artist. I consider it a privilege to transform meaningful memories, ideas, and experiences into lasting works of art that can be enjoyed for generations.
